Targeting the largest unmet needs in companion animal health

🐈Feline Chronic Kidney Disease

Chronic kidney disease is the leading cause of death in older cats, affecting over 30% of cats aged 15 and above — yet no disease-modifying drug has ever been approved. The current standard of care is limited to dietary management and phosphate binders, which slow but do not halt progression. With a total addressable market estimated at $4 billion by Zoetis, both major animal health companies have identified feline CKD as their top emerging therapeutic priority.

🧬 Canine Oncology

Cancer is the number one cause of death in dogs, with nearly 50% of dogs over age 10 developing some form of malignancy. Despite this, only two targeted oncology drugs — toceranib and verdinexor — have ever been approved for veterinary use. The canine oncology market represents a $2–4 billion opportunity that Zoetis, Elanco, and Boehringer Ingelheim have all identified as a strategic pipeline gap.

🧠 Cognitive Dysfunction and Neuropsychiatry

Canine cognitive dysfunction syndrome affects over 50% of dogs aged 11 and older, mirroring the amyloid-beta plaques, tau pathology, and progressive neurodegeneration seen in human Alzheimer's disease. There is no approved treatment. Behavioural conditions — including separation anxiety, noise phobia, and compulsive disorder — affect up to 40% of pet dogs, yet only two psychotropic drugs have veterinary approval.
